On Sunday, 19th April 2015, the Nurses Memorial Centre hosted its 68th annual ANZAC Commemorative Service. This service is held to remember all nurses past and present, and to honor those who have given their lives in service of their country. The service was held in the Atrium of Fawkner Towers due to high winds and rain and was attended by nearly 200 members, guests, students and community representatives.

Following the Service, Dr Kirsty Harris, who is an Honorary Fellow in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne gave an address titled “Just proud of being an Australian’: on hospital ships at Gallipoli 1915”. Her address was well received by over 130 guests with Dr Harris answering many questions following the talk.
